I will Praise You in the storm!

I will continue my posts on Best Friends, because lord knows I have some GREAT friends and family.

I can not go into any details on the internet and a lot of you know, but we are in the midst of a storm. I have faith and my family and right now that is the most important thing in my life. That is the one thing that NOONE can take away from me.

I will praise YOU in the storm. That's all I can do.

My prayer today is for peace and strength. I mean the strength that only comes from above. I love you lord Jesus and I know you will help us make it through!

Can you ever have enough...

Best Friends???
I decided on a topic that I would do for a couple of entries. I am so blessed to have good friends. I don't mean just friends . I mean really, really good friends. Friends that would be by my side in a minute if the need arose. Friends that have laughed with me and cried with me. I have friends that have seen me at my worst and seen me at my best. I am BLESSED.

First, I will introduce you to Kim. Kim has been my best friend since at least 5 year old kindergarten. What would I do without her? Growing up we spent countless nights together. We would stay up half the night. We would play in her sister's closet because she had the coolest clothes. Kristy would be ready to kill us!! It did not matter how well we put the clothes back in closet, she always knew when we had been there.

Kim and I graduated highschool together and went to church together. Kim has lived in every corner of this country and we have never missed a beat. We are always still best friends. We do not talk everyday. For that matter, we do not talk every week. We talk when we can, but we have the talent of picking up where we left off. She had 4 beautiful kids and a great husband. (Yep, I said 4 kids...)

To say that Kim knows me is an understatement. I swear if I ever had a sister, I imagine that she would be Kim. Someone who knows me as well as I know myself. Someone who can be honest with me. (Sometimes I think that we really must be related).

Anyway, I love you Kim and I do not know what I would do without you. There is just not enough time in the week to hang out.

Chair

I bought this chair over the weekend at one of my favorite places to shop. It did not always look like this. I have posted the before pictures below. I really love the way it turned out. What do you think??? I painted it with some leftover black paint that I had. I ran to Hancocks and bought some fabric and covered the cushion while the paint was drying. It was really fun to do!

Ever Grateful

Oh how I love these dishes! Hint hint...for anyone who needs to buy me a gift...ha ha. Just Kidding.

But all jokes aside, I do LOVE these dishes. They are the Ever Grateful collection from Dayspring. http://www.dayspring.com/ is where you can purchase all sorts of christian gifts. I love it. I have actually ordered a few pieces of this collection and can't wait to receive it. They are having a sale through the end of June where you can get 20% off.

I ordered this great pitcher for myself...it will look great in my kitchen.

I also ordered this easel. This will be a great place to leave notes to my hubby.

I ordered this vase. I am thinking this will look cute in my house also.

I love this plate. I have not ordered it yet, but I will soon. I will have to get a few pieces at the time. The message says "always blessed, ever thankful." I love that!!
Hope you enjoyed my random post!! Have a good week.

60 Years!

I threw a surprise 60th birthday party for my mom on Saturday. It was GREAT. She really was surprised. I had a lot of people help me pull this off. First, my dad kept a secret!!! My best friend, Kim, made the cake. It was awesome. Her mom made food. My sister-n-law made more food. My aunt helped me with decorations, drinks, cups and food. My mom's good friend, Debbie met me at the church on Wednesday to set up tables. She also met me at the church at 2:30 on Saturday to begin decorating. My mom's other friend, Fran helped me with food as well. I can't leave out Haley and her mom Carla. Haley helped me with the picture board. Her mom pitched in at the last minute on Saturday. My crock pot was not nearly big enough for all the meatballs I needed to cook. I called her and she ran right over and picked them up and graciously took them to her house to cook!!

My mom had so many people show up. Her cousin Connie drove in from the coast. One of her friends, Karen came from Philadelphia. Not to mention all the friends she has here who came to make the day very special. It was a great time. The picture above is when she walked in. I have added some more photos. Enjoy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

This is the board that me and Haley worked on. It's a compilation of photos from years past. My aunt also came over one night and helped me with this.

Kim and her awesome cake!

Shiloh Splash Park

We live around around the corner from the Shiloh Splash Park and Ashley Ryan is in LOVE. We bought season passes this year, because trust me, it was cheaper! She has a blast and mommy gets to lay out in the sun. Of course, I can splash if it gets to hot :0)

Here are some pics from Saturday at the splash park. I am sure we will be there this weekend. In fact, if we are not home on Saturday or Sunday afternoon, chances are this is where we are!

Um yeah - she is drinking the water!!! That's kinda gross.
I love this one!

So I had this Old Armoir...

So about 8 years ago I found this armoir at Walmart. It served it's purpose in our house for many years. When we built and moved into this house we bought new furniture and this had been pushed to the guest room. For months I have been telling David that I wanted a hutch or buffet for the kitchen. I searched in every store I went in and even looked on line. Everything I wanted was $1200 or more!!! My mom has always accused me of "expensive taste." The other day at work a light bulb went off in my head...I could turn the old armoir into my new expensive piece of furniture...

Below is the only before photo I have. This is David taking the doors off. We removed all doors, painted it black and added bead board to the back. My dad came in off the road Wednesday night and cut the bead board for me at 930 one night. He had some left over from another project he had worked on. So, literally, this project cost me $50. That is one can of paint and some brushes. It is decorated with things I already had.

I even put in my America decorations for the 4th of July. So, what do you think??? I love it. I am very pleased with how it turned out.
